She has experience working in private practice, schools, and providing services in naturalistic settings. Emma has worked with children with a variety of communication needs, with particular interests in supporting autistic children and working with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). She is passionate about helping children develop functional communication in ways that are meaningful to them. She is trained in Meaningful Speech’s Gestalt Language Development and Natural Language Acquisition framework and incorporates these principles into her approach when appropriate.
Emma is a strong believer in child led, neurodiversity affirming care. She strives to create therapy environments where children feel safe, understood, and empowered to communicate in their own unique ways. She believes therapy should be collaborative, engaging, and grounded in evidence-based practices while being guided by each child’s strengths, interests, and individual communication goals. She values partnering closely with families and other members of a child’s care team to support meaningful communication across everyday environments.
